Farfur, the Mickey Mouse lookalike who preached Islamic domination and hatred of Jews on a children's television program on Hamas TV was the victim of a "beating death" in the show's final episode Friday.

An actor posing as an Israeli official tried to buy Farfur's "land." The mouse called the Israeli a "terrorist" and defended himself valiantly, with squeaks and grunts. "Farfur was martyred while defending his land," Sara, the teen presenter intoned. He was killed "by the killers of children," she added, helpfully.

The weekly show, featuring the giant black-and-white rodent with a high-pitched voice, had attracted worldwide attention because the Disney-inspired character had urged Palestinian children to attack Jews and destroy Israel.

Despite criticism of the show by Walt Disney's daughter, officials of the Disney corporation had decided to do nothing about the appropriation of the cartoon character to preach hatred.

Station manager Mohammed Bilal said Friday that Farfour was taken off the air to make room for new programs, but didn't say which would be shown instead, AP reported.
