The doctoral thesis of Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, who has been tagged a 'moderate' by the West and Israel, is widely known to cast a skeptical eye on the Holocaust and the number of Jews who fell victim to it.
But unlike the Holocaust conference hosted by Iran this week, Abbas' thesis has met little or not disapproval in the West, a report by Frontpage Magazine states.
Abbas relied heavily on the claims of known Holocaust deniers in the thesis. While he does not deny the occurrence of the Holocaust he does imply that the numbers of victims has been inflated.
Skepticism over the number of victims of the Holocaust is a tactic employed by many deniers to attempt to cast general doubt on the history of the Holocaust.
However, those who oppose the anti-Semitic deniers and skeptics were recently bolstered in their position by the release, last month, of the most extensive archive of Holocaust documents available. The archive had previously been sealed by a wing of the International Red Cross. |
