The Islamic Jihad terrorist group says that Palestinians can ease tensions between Hamas and Fatah over Abbas' call for new elections by focusing on the real task at hand -- killing Israelis.

According to the terror group's website, the difficulty surrounding the formation of a unity government "proves that the Hudna [truce] does not serve Palestinian interests. Now more than ever, our rockets should be aimed at the Zionist entity in order to show that there will be no Hudna. Thus there will be no disagreement over who should rule," reports Israel National News.

The past few days in Gaza have been filled with internal Palestinian violence. The episode began with the murder of the children of a Fatah official, most likely by gunmen linked to Hamas. Fatah retaliated with an assassination attempt on Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniya at the Gaza-Egypt border-crossing several days later.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has called for early Palestinian presidential and parliamentary elections due to this latest outbreak of violence. A date for the elections has not yet been set.
