Tali Fahima, the Israeli woman who befriended a Palestinian terror leader and was convicted of abetting him, was released early from prison on Wednesday.
Fahima struck up a relationship with Zakariya Zubeidi, leader of Jenin's Al-Aqsa Martyr's Brigade and provided him with assistance such as the translation of a classified Israeli military document that the terror group had obtained, the Jerusalem Post states.
Fahima, who was arrested on her way to Jenin, was convicted of providing information to an enemy in order to assist him, and assisting an enemy during wartime, which carries a maximum sentence of death, a sentence that Israel does not allow for ordinary crimes.
Although she was given a three year sentence in exchange for a plea bargain, Fahima was released early on parole after exhibiting good behavior for a prolonged period of time. |
