A Saudi newspaper, Al Watan, reported Monday that about 45 Jews living in a town north of Yemen's capital Sana'a fled their homes after receiving threats from al-Qaida, The Jerusalem Post reported.
A resident speaking to Israel Radio confirmed the report and said that the Jewish residents received letters from the Yemen government warning them about the al-Qaida death threats and directing them to leave. She told the radio station that she and her friends were staying in a hotel and were afraid to return home.
