Attorney Avigdor Feldman -- one of the most renowned attorneys in the country -- has accepted President Moshe Katsav's request Sunday evening to serve as his defense counsel, following the resignation of Katsav's former attorney, Prof. David Libai.
Libai announced his resignation Sunday afternoon.
Following a conversation between Libai and Katsav Sunday, the president's office issued a statement saying that the two "agreed Katsav will not longer be represented by Attorney Libai."
"The decision was made a week ago, before Attorney Libai was presented with the investigation material," the statement continued.
