From Tom Friedman's festive lamb dinner in 2002 with the Crown Prince (now King) Abdullah, in which the Saudi royal happened to pull his "peace plan" from the desk drawer, there has been a concerted effort to foist this staged plan for Israel's destruction. Sharon and even Peres recognized the plan for what it is, but current PM Olmert and Foreign Minister Livni appear ready to accept it as the basis for Israel's demise.

Are they obtuse, trying to distract attention from their failures, or what?
