A new Gallup poll shows that support for Israel among Americans is on the rise compared to a couple of decades ago.
The results of the survey show that far more Americans are taking a position on the Israeli-Arab conflict than in the past with a more substantial rise in American support for Israel compared to the small rise observed in support for Palestinians.
The poll also observed that though more Americans are taking concrete positions on the conflict, their views tend to be more connected to wither one end of the spectrum or the other.
Fourteen years ago 43 percent of Americans either didn't have an opinion or viewed the Israelis and Palestinians equally.
Today, only 22 percent of Americans said they are impartial.
The vast majority of those who have switched from being impartial to supporting one side over the other have decided to back Israel.
" The random poll of 1,007 adults was carried out on February 4-7 and has a 3% margin of error," reported the Jerusalem Post.
Jerusalem Newswire contributed to this report. |
