The Israeli market loses around USD 1.5 billion (NIS 6.2 billion) every year because of the lack of Arab women in the workforce, according to research by the Musawa Center for Arab Rights in Israel, Ynetnews reported.
Only 18 percent of Arab women work in Israel, as opposing to 56 percent of Jewish women, the research shows. Fifty-nine percent of Arab men in Israel work.
"Integrating Arab women into the workforce would raise income levels by 30 percent," said Amin Fares, a Musawa Centre economist.
