Health Minister Yacov Ben Yizri will meet with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert Thursday evening to brief him on the outbreak of the deadly antibiotic-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae virus in Israel.

He will recommend a budget for dealing with the bug.

A Ynet report revealed Wednesday that there are currently 48 people hospitalized throughout Israel who are at risk of succumbing to the Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria.

The Health Ministry has not yet publicized precise statistics, but a Tuesday news report revealed that the bacteria have infected between 400-500 people and have already caused over 120 deaths in Israel.
