Palestinians to take part in Eurovision starting next year

Starting in 2008, the Palestinian Authority will be represented in the Eurovision contest, Ynetnews reports.

In order to take part in the Eurovision contest, the Palestinian Authority's broadcasting authority will have to be assessed to make sure it meets the standards of the European broadcasting association organizing the event. A Danish company will help the Palestinians establish a broadcasting infrastructure that meets the European standards and will also help the chosen band or singer to prepare for the event.

A few days ago, a PA representative signed an agreement of cooperation with Palestinian musician Said Morad and the Danish embassy in Ramallah.
