Four Palestinians have been killed in factional fighting in the Gaza Strip in the last day, Ynetnews reported.

The deaths came in spite of the new unity government, which Palestinians hoped would put an end to the infighting of the past few months.

The most recent clashes began after Rami Sarur, a member of Fatah's military wing, al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, was killed on Wednesday.

On Thursday morning, 45-year-old Samir Hilles was shot and killed in Gaza City. His family began fighting with members of a Hamas militia in the Gaza Strip. Six people were injured in this incident.

Two other men were killed in other incidents of violence.

According to sources in Gaza, the continuing violence shows that Gaza is still ruled by lawlessness, even with the formation of the unity government.
