Four Labor Party activists were charged Thursday with forging party membership forms in an effort to give Defense Minister Amir Peretz an advantage in the 2005 Labor elections, Haaretz reported.
All four are activists in a Tel Aviv taxi drivers' union. Yehuda Ben Or, one of the defendents, was the head of the union when it was part of the Histadrut.
The activists allegedly sought posts as Labor Central Committee members, as well as other things.
In addition to being charged with forging membership forms, they are also charged with using fraudulent documents, fraudulent gain, and attempt to illegally cast votes.
