Gaza-based Palestinian terrorists fired another barrage of missiles into southern Israel on Wednesday.
Most of the rockets fell in open areas, but at least one hit a farm and damaged crops.
Another projectile landed dangerously close to Ashkelon's sensitive industrial zone. The area is home to one of Israel's largest electrical plants, as well as a number of petro-chemical storage facilities.
A direct hit on the industrial zone, which almost happens at least once a month, would result in a mass-casualty disaster.
Residents of southern Israel have complained that the government apparently does not intend to move against the terrorists until they actually managed to cause such a catastrophe.
The IDF finally fought back Wednesday, hitting a target in northern Gaza, after upholding a policy of restraint since the initiation of the cease-fire. |
