Two 107 millimeter-diameter Katyusha rockets landed in the northern town of Kiryat Shmona Sunday afternoon. No injuries were reported, but a car was damaged. The Palestinian group Fatah al-Islam, not Hezbollah, was believed to be behind the attacks.
At around 5:20 pm, residents of the northern town reported explosions. IDF officials said that the rockets were launched from an area near UN outposts in southern Lebanon. Lebanese media reported that they came from villages near Marjayoun.
After an IDF evaluation, residents were instructed to carry on as normal.
Al Manar reported that, in response to the Katyusha attacks, the IDF was firing mortar shells at the Shebaa Farms area in southern Lebanon.
