The US State Department, in a travel advisory issued on Saturday, has called on all American citizens visiting Gaza to leave immediately and not to enter the West Bank. The advisory warns of possible terror attacks, especially in and around restaurants and businesses with American links. It adds that American citizens should be particularly cautious around the US embassy.

The advisory was released following recent reports of plans to carry out suicide bombings at American sites, according to the Jerusalem Post.

The State Department issued a special warning for Americans in Jerusalem, citing ""the general security atmosphere in Israel, Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and repeated threats to American citizens and sites."
