Star Israeli tennis player Shahar Pe'er's Sunday win over Austria's Yvonne Meusburger, 6-3, 6-1 in the Linz playoff game between the two countries qualified Israel's Fed Cup team for the prestigious World Group.

This is the first time the Israeli women's tennis team has qualified for the World Group, despite this being the team's tenth consecutive Fed Cup victory.

Pe'er is ranked 18th internationally.
