The United States government is to consider including Israel in its Visa Waiver program, which would allow Israeli citizens to travel to the US up to 90 days without a visa. In order to be approved, applicant countries must have a visa rejection rate of three percent or less.
In the final stages of the program, Israel would have to gain approval from U.S. Homeland Security officials in collaboration with Israel's own security agencies, according to Haaretz.
Other countries that were granted permission to apply for this round of approvals are Argentina, South Korea, Taiwan and Estonia.
