Hamas terrorists on Tuesday fired a rocket into a daycare center in the Israeli city of Sderot on the border of Gaza, according to Israel Today. The daycare was closed for summer vacation and no injuries were reported.
"I don't want to imagine what would have happened had the center been open," one resident said who lives nearby.
Since last week, Hamas militants have fired over 50 rockets and mortar shells at Sderot and the surrounding area. Residents are outraged at Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's refusal to reinforce all local schools in compliance with a Supreme Court ruling.
Olmert said that Israel cannot "fortify itself to death."
