A Qassam rocket directly hit a house in the Sderot neighborhood of Neot Rabin Tuesday morning, lightly injuring a pedestrian and causing others to suffer from shock.

The family was in the house at the time of the attack, and entered their secure room after hearing the rocket alarm system.

A Sderot resident who was walking by the house at the time of the attack, was wounded by shrapnel in his eye, and taken to a nearby hospital.

Fatah's military wing, al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, took responsibility for the attack.

The Neot Rabin neighborhood has been the target of many Qassam attacks in the past few months.

"I was home with my mother and father," Amir Sabag, a resident of the attacked house, told Ynetnews, "We were in our rooms and then we heard the color red alert and ran to the bomb shelter. We heard a very strong explosion that shook the whole house.

"When we left the shelter, we saw that the rocket had hit the bathroom and caused very severe damage to the house. Not long ago another rocket landed outside of the house. We really hope this nightmare ends already."

According to neighbor Eran Cohen, "We are close to Beit Hanoun and that's why the Qassams land in our neighborhood. I saw the trail of smoke, I heard the blast and I immediately knew that a rocket had landed in the area."

Minister of Social Affairs Isaac Herzog, who, at the time of the attack, was touring communities in close proximity to Gaza in an effort to address the citizen's security concerns, arrived at the scene shortly after the rocket struck the house.

"When I visited the family, the father was suffering an anxiety attack. We sat together, and we hugged. The main message I got from the family was that in spite of the difficulties, they feel no one recognizes the efforts they make to carry on a normal life under these conditions," said Herzog.
