A Qassam fired by Palestinian militants in Gaza hit an open field in the Negev Thursday after a previous rocket directly struck an empty Sderot house earlier in the day, lightly injuring two women.

Though no injuries or damage were reported in the latest instance, the prior attack left the Sderot house extensively damaged.

One woman who was passing the house at the time of the attack was treated for shock while another passerby sustained light injuries to her leg.

As rocket attacks continue in the Qassam-battered western Negev town of Sderot, the town's Parent-Teacher Association is claiming that schools are not sufficiently fortified, and will not be ready in time for the opening of the school year on September 2.
