US court orders Iran to pay $13 million to terror victim's family

A US district judge in Washington D.C. ruled that Iran was responsible for the suicide bombing at the Frank Sinatra cafeteria in Hebrew University on July 31, 2002 because of its longtime financial support of Hamas, who carried out the bombing, according to the Jerusalem Post.

The court has ordered Iran to pay approximately $13 million to the family of Marla Bennett, who was killed in the terror attack.

Eight other students and cafeteria workers were killed in the attack.

The Hebrew University administration issued a press release that stated that it "pays tribute to the memory of Marla Bennett and all of the other victims of the terrorist attack and expressed satisfaction at the decision of the court, which perhaps will ease, if only slightly, the sorrow of the family."
