Loved ones of the slain prime minister Yitzhak Rabin z"l, along with officials and dignitaries, gathered at Jerusalem's Mt. Herzl on Wednesday for the national memorial service honoring Rabin, who was assassinated 12 years ago by Yigal Amir.
"12 years have passed by in a blink since Yitzhak was slain by the 'lowest' of murderers, who held a human life cheap," President Shimon Peres said during his speech, the Jerusalem Post reported.
The president continued on a more political note, saying that if Israel escaped the "moral burden of ruling another people" it would lead to peace.
