The IDF military court in Judea Tuesday handed down a verdict in the case against Abdallah Barghouti, a Hamas activist who prepared the explosive devices used in a number of terrorist attacks in which 66 Israelis were killed and many others sustained serious injuries.
Barghouti has been involved in many devastating terrorist attacks:
-In a Jerusalem Sbarro restaurant on 9/8/01, in which fifteen civilians were killed and 130 were injured. He prepared the explosive device used by the suicide terrorist in that incident.
-In the club Shpild Club in Rishon Letzion on 7/5/02, in which 15 civilians were killed and 59 were injured.
-The multiple terrorist attack on the pedestrian boardwalk on Jerusalem's Ben Yehuda Street on 1/12/01, in which ten civilians were killed and another 191 were injured. Barghouti prepared the three explosive devices used in the multiple terrorist attacks, carried out using two suicide bombers and one explosive vehicle.
Barghouti prepared an explosive belt for a suicidebomber who carried out the attack in Moment coffee shop in Jerusalem on 9/3/02. In the attack 11 Israeli civilians were killed and 65 were injured.
He prepared an explosive device used in a suicide bombing in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem on 31/7/02, in which nine Israeli civilians were killed and 81 were injured.
He prepared an explosive belt that was used in a suicide attack on the number 4 bus on Allenby Street in Tel Aviv on 19/9/02. The attack resulted in the murder of six Israeli civilians and injured 84. |
