FBI agents on Wednesday obtained files and served subpoenas at the offices of the main pro-Israel lobbying organization in the United States.

The search was part of an investigation into whether classified U.S. material about Iran was improperly passed on to Israel.

The search was disclosed in a statement by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. The organization again said it is cooperating "in order to get these false and baseless allegations put to rest fully and swiftly."

"As we have said from the beginning, AIPAC has done nothing wrong," the statement said.

The FBI previously interviewed two AIPAC employees about whether a Defense Department analyst, Larry Franklin, gave them classified information that would up in the hands of Israel. Franklin, who works on issues involving Iran and the Middle East, has not made any comment about the matter.
