Hallelujah! Agreement reached on a proper title for Shimon Peres

The Prime Minister's Media Adviser announced the glorious tidings that Labor MK Haim Ramon and attorney Yoram Rabad agreed this Thursday morning, December 30, 2004, at 11:14 am,
that Labor Party Chairman MK Shimon Peres will be appointed "Vice Premier" and will be officially recognized as the senior minister after the Prime Minister.

It is unclear whether this glorious event will subsequently be honored in a national holiday.

In the coalition agreement, it will be made clear to all and sundry that the foregoing pronouncement and elevated role does in no way impair the authority or masculinity or potency of the Acting Prime Minister, according to law. Thus, there will be no need to pursue amendment of the Basic Law: The Government.

It does mean, however, that should the Prime Minister die or becomes incapacitated or perhaps indicted that Shimon Peres will NOT become acting Prime Minister because his new Vice role does not actually appear to have any real significance other than soothing the sense of self-importance of he that bears it in modest sense of national service, praised be he.

This Solomonic decision is expected to pave the way for the unencumbered erection of a unity coalition, with its formation expected as early as next Monday.

Praise be to Peres! Long live Sharon! Hallelujah!
