Peres: Deployment of Jordanian troops in Samaria "depends on Palestinians"
By: IMRA
Published: February 3, 2005

Commenting on a report in Maariv Thursday morning that 1,000 Jordanian troops will be deployed in northern Samaria after the "disengagement", Vice Prime Minister Shimon Peres said in a live interview broadcast this morning on Israel Radio that "it depends on the Palestinians."

Peres noted that Israel has always been willing to have Americans in the Gaza Strip and elsewhere.

After first making these remarks, Peres replied to a follow up question by saying that "I do not comment on theoretical plans."
