Two Israeli security guards were moderately wounded in a shooting attack on a security vehicle traveling on the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv Highway 446, near the city of Modi'in Monday evening.
The two wounded men worked as guards for the settlement of Oranim near the Green Line. Security officials suspect that the terrorists who carried out the attack may have intended to infiltrate the community but altered their plans at the last minute.
The injuries, on their legs and arms, are not believed to be life-threatening. The two, both in their thirties, are expected to have orthopedic surgery overnight.
