In a summary of Sunday's Cabinet meeting, the Government reported that in the Crawford summit, "President Bush reiterated his commitment to the US position that in any future permanent settlement, all the major settlement blocs would remain part of the State of Israel." But unless there is a part of the letter written in invisible ink, there is nothing in the text of the Bush letter backing this assertion. Then again, as VPM Peres pointed out last week, since the term "major settlement blocs" was never defined it is possible that none of the communities PM Sharon is thinking of outside of Jerusalem actually quality as "major settlement blocs".
