Syria completed the withdrawal of its forces from Lebanon today, ending 29 years of occupation.
The last Syrian soldier will leave Lebanon this afternoon, after a military ceremony at a Lebanese airbase in the eastern Bekaa Valley, which will mark the official end of the Syrian presence.
Just two months ago, Syria had a force of 14,000 soldiers stationed in Lebanon.
