Hundreds of Lebanese residents have been receiving, during the past few days, Arabic-language leaflets from Germany, England and other countries, offering US$10 million for information on the fate of missing Israel Air Force navigator Capt. Ron Arad.

Lebanese security officials have opened an investigation into the mysterious leaflets, which were sent primarily to southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley, from the 'Born to Freedom Foundation'.

The leaflets include a color photograph of Arad, whose jet was downed over the Ayn al-Hilwah Palestinian refugee camp in 1986.
