An El Al 747 cargo plan with 17 crew and passengers and dozens of calves was forced to make an emergency landing after its instruments reported smoke in its storage compartment. Emergency personnel, ambulances, and firefighters near Ben Gurion airport were placed on high alert.
After a safe landing, however, it became clear that the cause of the smoke indicator was in fact the gaseous emissions of the calves.
In light of the incident El Al is reportedly considering changing the diets of meals served to cows to less dairy and no cholent. |
