According to Islamic Jihad sources, the Palestinian, Rami Malach, was a key member of a cell of collaborators that assisted the IDF in reaching organization members, especially in the village of Ilar, located near Tulkarem.

Islamic Jihad members claimed they possess videotape in which Malach "confesses" to collaborating with Israel.
