Sephardic Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar, who is under a cloud of suspicion over his possible involvement in the kidnapping and assault of his daughter's suitor, expressed "true anguish" Tuesday over the ordeal allegedly suffered by his daughter's suitor at the hands of his son, Meir Amar, but has denied any involvement in the affair.

This, despite allegations made by the 17-year-old boyfriend to the contrary.

In the meantime, the Rabbi has hired the Public Relations agency Rimon - Cohen, to help deal with the scandal.
