Interior Minister Ophir Pines-Paz announced today that he intends to revoke the Israeli residency of four members of an East Jerusalem cell of Hamas behind the deaths of 35 people in multiple terrorist attacks.
The four Palestinian residents of East Jerusalem -- Wa'al Kassam, Wissam Abassi, Mohammed Odeh and Aladin Abassi -- were arrested in 2002 as part of an undercover operation. The court gave the four Hamas members 30 days to respond or appeal against the decision, before their residency is revoked.
In a letter informing them of his plan, Pines-Paz told the four that the terror activity 'committed by your hand while taking advantage of the freedom of movement in Israel facilitated by your Israeli identity cards is a breach of trust against the State of Israel."
