"This is the Palestinian Authority's official website. It is not the website of some extremist organization," commented Laura Kam Issacharoff, a director at the ADL's Israel branch. "This is something that should be raised with the chairman (Abbas) when he goes to America."
The American Jewish organization said it would ask U.S. officials to take up the issue with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who is due to meet U.S. President George W. Bush at the White House on May 26.
The "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" is a forgery written by a German author in the 19th century that purports to detail a Jewish plot for world domination. The Russian secret police stirred up anti-Semitism with it in the 19th and early 20th century.
