Following a reception at President Moshe Katsav's official residence, the first lady is set to meet with several dignitaries and public figures, including the president's wife, Gila Katsav , Judy Nir Mozes Shalom, the wife of Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom and the wife of US Ambassador to Israel, Sheila Kurtzer.
Palestinain sources said Bush had requested to visit the Temple Mount, however, the PA is afraid her request may be interpreted as an official US recognition of Israel's sovereign control of the area.
In addition, The British Telegraph reported that the Palestinians are angry after they discovered Bush's visit to Jericho is included as part of her trip to Israel.
