PA elections likely postponed until November

According to Hamas spokesman Mohammed Ghazal, Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas wants to postpone the Palestinian parliamentary elections until November.

On Wednesday, Israel Radio quoted the London-based Al Quds al-Arabi newspaper as saying that Abbas has won agreement from Hamas leaders for a postponement of the elections, originally scheduled for mid-July.

Hamas had previously demanded that the elections be held on time.
