The issue is slated to come up in the meeting scheduled for Sunday between Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who is to arrive in Israel on Saturday.

The U.S. has promised Israel it will refrain from the official talks with Hamas until it renounces armed struggle and agrees to abide by legal constraints.
