After 20 years with Israel's Shin Bet security service, an agent has fulfilled his lifelong dream of opening a kindergarten, Israel's Yediot Achronot newspaper reported last week.
Atid Maor, 44, spent two decades working on various undercover assignments with Shin Bet, Israel's equivalent of the FBI, before deciding to make a career switch.
"I always wanted to work with children, teach, change nappies, prepare breakfast and read stories," the former agent explained. Talk about a "change of life."
While former colleagues reacted with surprise at Maor's new choice of career, parents told the newspaper that he was very good with children.
On the other hand, working with older Israeli children, with school violence increasing at an alrming rate, may be good practice for law enforcement. Any teachers looking to take Maor's place?
