The Knesset's approval of a new bill may make it easier for the AG to strip the parliamentary immunity of an MK, like Omri Sharon, suspected of a criminal offence.
The bill also stipulates that every request to strip an MK of immunity will require approval by an open Knesset vote.
According to an early draft, Sharon will be charged with criminal violations punishable by up to seven years in jail, and violations of the campaign funding law, punishable by a fine.
