The Egyptian daily reported that according to the protocol, Egypt and the Palestinian Authority will share full control over the Rafah border crossing.
Egypt has also proposed that the multi-national peace force, which has been based in the Sinai Peninsula since the signing of the peace accords between Israel and Egypt in 1979, would take part in securing the border line and crossing.
The control over the Philadelphi route, a 100-meter strip that Israel created to stop arms smuggling into the Gaza Strip, has become one of the thorniest questions in the lead-up to the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
