"I have no regrets," said the Syrian national, in a Turkish courtroom. "I was going to attack Israeli ships. If they come, my friends will attack them."

The suspect, identified as "Luia Sakra" is believed to be the top figure in Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network in Turkey. He was apprehended in the southeastern city of Diyarbakir on Sunday as he attempted to board a plane for Istanbul.
