In an emergency deliberation on Thursday, Israel's Chief Rabbinate, the head rabbis of the State, decided that the IDF dismantling abandoned synagogues in Gaza sends a message that it is acceptable to destroy abandoned synagogues around the world.
The government decided on Wednesday to tear down, or blow up, the synagogues in evacuated settlements, in an effort to prevent their desecration upon the Palestinians entering Gaza. Two prefab synagogues may be moved.
