Police arrested two people, apparently a Jewish pimp and prostitute, Friday night on suspicion that they were responsible for a pig's head dressed in a keffiyeh and inscribed with the moniker "the Prophet Muhammad" being thrown last Friday into the yard of Tel Aviv's Hassan Bek Mosque last Friday.
Police said the two confessed to the crime and said they had committed it out of hatred for Muslims and in an attempt to cause riots that would end the disengagement process. On the scene, police found another pig head ready for delivery.
Earlier Friday, the leadership of Israel's Arab community held a prayer and protest rally at the Hassan Bek Mosque. |
