Several families have declined to attend a memorial ceremony and regional tour organized by the Tank Corps dedicated to soldiers who died while serving in Gaza.

Thirteen families who each lost sons in the Gaza Strip were invited to attend the ceremony, scheduled to take place later today.

The Tank Corps played a central role in IDF operations in Gaza, taking part in many operations and providing security for Jewish communities in Gush Katif and the northern Gaza Strip. From 2002 to 2003, IDF tanks became a primary target for Palestinian terrorists, who caused many injuries in addition to the deaths.
