Early Monday morning, at least fourteen homes of Christian residents in Teybeh, a village in Samaria, were torched by Muslims from the neighboring town of Dir Jarir to avenge the "dishonoring of a woman". Residents who went out to see what was happening were badly beaten, after the Muslims threw Molotov cocktails that burned homes to the ground. Raiders also ignited farms, stores, and a gas station, the latter being put out before fuel tanks exploded.
Palestinian Authority security sources said the raid was triggered by the murder of a 23-year old Palestinian woman by her family, which suspected her of having a romance with a Christian man of the village. Most residents in Taybeh are Catholic or Greek Orthodox.
