On the second day of protests on Monday outside the town of Khan Yunis, anti-government Palestinian protesters and schoolchildren threw rocks at police; the latest warning of disorder within the Palestinian Authority controlled Gaza Strip before the Israeli handover.
The police responded with tear gas, which prompted the protesters to throw firebombs back, injuring seven officers. Police in turn fired live ammunition in random bursts at the crowd in an attempt to gain control. 3 civilians were injured.
