According to a report in Haaretz, a recent study on poverty indicated that half a million Israelis receive food handouts daily from 170 different organizations, excluding Arabs that receive handouts from charity organizations. The organizations, although they give food to hundreds of thousands, do not consult nutritionists, and the Ministry of Health supervises only 25 percent.
