About 60 masked Fatah Al-Aqsa Brigade members took over two Palestinian Authority (PA) government buildings in Dir al-Balah Saturday afternoon and demanded the PA give them jobs. The gunmen also kidnapped an Italian journalist who phoned his newspaper and informed them that the assailants committed the kidnapping in protest of the corruption of Palestinian Interior Minister, Nasser Yousef.

According to a report in Ynet, a member of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade said, "The gunmen do not ask for a prize in exchange for their activity on behalf of the Palestinian people. We sacrificed ourselves for the homeland and demand to receive what we deserve."
